Common questions
How does Rentaura find my matches?+
We scan rental listings from public sources (Craigslist, Kijiji, and others as we add them) and from landlords who post directly on Rentaura. Each listing gets a value score based on price-per-bedroom in its neighbourhood. We rank matches against the budget, beds, neighbourhoods, amenities, and other preferences you set in your search, and surface the top ones in your feed.
Why am I being routed to an external site when I tap Contact Landlord?+
For rentals aggregated from sites like Craigslist, Rentaura opens the original posting in Safari so you can reply directly through the source site. This keeps you in control of the conversation and means landlord replies arrive in your own email inbox. For listings posted directly on Rentaura (rare today, growing as we onboard landlords), you can submit an application through the app.
How do I change my search criteria?+
Open the app → tap the search icon at the bottom → tap the search you want to edit. Changes take effect on the next match run (within two hours).
How do I stop getting notifications?+
In-app push notifications can be turned off in iOS Settings → Notifications → Rentaura. Email digests (if you opted in via the website) have an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every digest.
How do I delete my account?+
In the iOS app, open Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, searches, matches, applications, and notification tokens within 30 days. If you can’t access the app, email privacy@rentaura.ai from the address tied to your account and we’ll process it manually.
A listing in my feed turned out to be fake or a scam.+
Please email us at support@rentaura.ai with the listing details and what you saw. We’ll remove it from our feed and use the signal to tune our quality filters. Aggregated listings come from third-party sites — we can’t prevent fakes from being posted there, but we can keep them out of Rentaura.
I'm a landlord — can I list my unit on Rentaura?+
We’re currently onboarding landlords by invitation as we build out the direct-listing flow. If you have a Vancouver-area rental and want early access, write to support@rentaura.ai.
App Store / billing
Rentaura is currently free to tenants. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you see an unexpected charge attributed to Rentaura, it isn’t us — please email support@rentaura.ai with the details so we can help you investigate.
